I want to thank those who have asked me to write about my travels in Italy. I’m not sure what to make of all the questions and comments I get. I guess I’m in the minority.
I know I can’t say I have any good answers for every question. The best I can do is give you my best guesses. This is mostly to offer you a list of places I’ve been and things I’ve seen that might interest you.
I have been in Rome for about seven days. I have seen a lot of good things and bad things. I have also seen a lot of beautiful things. And I have seen a lot of ugly things.
Well, the last time I was in Rome I was talking to some tourists who had gotten lost in a church, wandering in the dark (I think because the church was packed) and got lost in the city. I managed to get them back to the hotel and they were very happy to see me.
I think the church in question was the church of Sant’Egidio in the center of the city. It was right next to the Pantheon that has these columns that seem to be made of marble, but the church was filled with people and a lot of statues and it smelled like a wet forest. I’ve been in Rome for four days and already I can’t look at the city, because it is so much more beautiful than I remembered.
I am sure that the churches in Rome are beautiful. The one I am talking about is probably the Pantheon. If you look at it from the outside, it looks like a giant white square, and inside the church is a massive dome, and the church is filled with statues, and it is beautiful. Ive only been in Rome for two days and already I cant get used to it.
You should see the church in Rome. And the Pantheon. And the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore. And the Basilicata. And the Colosseum. And the Colosseum.
